Summary

Lurie breaks down the concerning incident at Tennessee State University where unauthorized MAGA supporters invaded campus with inflammatory signs. She connects this to Trump's embarrassing UN appearance where he blamed others for teleprompter failures and delivered a speech filled with falsehoods that damaged America's international standing. The episode also explores the Jimmy Kimmel controversy, highlighting how media conglomerates like Sinclair Broadcasting threaten free speech. Favors emphasizes the urgent need for listeners to support Black-owned media outlets as a form of resistance and self-preservation in an increasingly hostile media landscape. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. See https://pcm.adswizz.com for information about our collection and use of personal data for advertising.

clip circulating. There's, frankly, a lot of them right now that show what happened at Tennessee

State University and HBCU where basically

1:12.5

MAGA supporters who were unauthorized and completely unwanted from the looks of things made their

1:18.8

way onto campus. They had these signs that said DEI should be illegal and deport all illegals

1:23.7

and clearly trying to be inflammatory, clearly trying to be problematic. And they were, but then they got handled. And it was the handling that ended up being kind of dope. But I want you out to take a listen to this first clip. Now, this is a clip that it's hard to understand what's happening. So I'm going to describe it to you. There's a student approaching the crowd that has gathered and it's kind of a raucous crowd. You see a couple of white

1:44.7

guys with the red MAGA hats on trying to set up their table. And then you see snapshots of

1:49.7

police officers trying to take their items, not in sort of like any, with any sort of tension,

1:54.6

like back and forth, but just like calmly taking their stuff down. You see students who are gathered.

1:58.9

One has a sign that says Black Lives Matter. And the students are just sort of loudly voicing their discontent with the fact that these invaders onto their

2:06.8

campus have caused such a ruckus. Let's take a listen.

Mega supporters invaded out HBCU.
