Lots to get to today. Before we get to any of that, we have some business to take care of. And this is part of probably as I, yeah, no, definitely. I say every single day, this is the most important segment of the show. It frankly doesn't matter what news topics we are covering in the show. The most important part of the show is this segment we are about to do right here. It's called A Moment of Gratitude. And the reason this segment is the most important is because, as I mentioned at the very beginning of this opening, we do Black Talklandia talk here. Hard work. Not easy to sit through it because it's, you know, it's the news. It's what's happening and it's our version of it. It's how, you know, I present it, you know, I try to do it as best as I can, but it can be heavy, right? |
| 1:29.6 | And we live in a world where there's a lot of it. It's how, you know, I present it, you know, I try to do it as best as I can, but it can be heavy, right? |
| 1:29.6 | And we live in a world where there's a lot of heaviness right now. |
| 1:32.0 | And then you look at the fact that each of us are living individual lives that also have our own shares of struggles and challenges. and we have to remind ourselves that no matter what we are facing, |
| 1:41.1 | whether it is as an individual or if it is as a part of a culture, a society, |
| 1:45.7 | that frankly we have to make sure. what we are facing, whether it is as an individual or if it is as a part of a culture, a society, |
| 1:45.7 | that frankly we have to make sure that we are centered and rooted in our power. |
| 1:51.3 | Before we do any analysis, before we think about, you know, the best sorts of plans and tactics |
| 1:55.3 | and strategies, what is your heart center telling you? |
| 1:58.6 | Where are you in terms of being centered in your actual power, which is the power that |
| 2:02.8 | exceeds far beyond your intellect? |
| 2:05.4 | And so we know, both from the science and lived experience, that when it comes to our emotional |
| 2:10.6 | body, if we are rooted in gratitude, we cannot also be trapped by fear. |
| 2:15.6 | That is confirmed for us both by experience and the science. |
| 2:18.4 | If we are rooted in joy, it is really hard to get stuck in depression, right? And so we use this moment of gratitude to make sure we are as centered as possible. And it's a pretty simple ritual. It's so simple. In fact, it goes a little something like this. In just a minute, y'all going to hear music. That music is sung to you by a group known as the Beautiful Chorus, and that music is going to |
| 2:37.1 | invite you to join the going to hear music. That music is sung to you by a |
| 2:34.6 | group known as the beautiful chorus, and that music is going to invite you to join the rest of us, |
| 2:38.8 | as we will collectively begin taking the slowest, the deepest, and most lung capacity expanding, |
| 2:44.0 | joyful, heart, invigorating, troubled mind, cleansing, and weary, soul, uplifting, the most |
| 2:48.3 | amazingly juicy breath. As we kick off our most important segment of |
| 2:52.0 | every single day, it is time day we got to do it and every day we got to do it and every day it matters. |
