I'm Maddie Mitchell and I am your host today and always because, well, quite frankly,

this is literally my podcast

so who else is going to host it happy freaking Monday it is our first Monday of July that's crazy

because it feels like it's been July for a week because well because it because it has. Happy July 7th. I hope you guys

had a fabulous weekend. I hope you're feeling well rested and rejuvenated and ready to tackle

whatever life might throw at you this week. And I don't think that that's asking too much from your

favorite podcast host. I know a lot of people, obviously if you're in the U.S., the 4th of July was

on Friday. I hope a lot of you were able to have the day off, get a little long weekend, maybe sit by the pool or at the beach, have a cookout, eat a hot dog.

I don't know your story, and I wouldn't dare try to tell you how to live your life, but I hope you had an enjoyable

weekend. I will actually, I hope you all had an enjoyable long weekend, but I fear that wasn't

the case, especially for our prison guards in other countries. That would be just like kind of

rogue if for some reason you had the 4th of July off. But anyways, this week's episode, I just have, well, I just have a lot to say.

Let me start there. I have a lot to say. I haven't sat down to record a podcast in like two weeks

because I batched a couple episodes. And then I have been very busy, very busy. I feel like I've

lived many lives over the last couple weeks and I just

kind of wanted to give some updates. And then also we're going to talk about our summer favorites,

all of us collectively. I know how much you guys all like hearing recommendations from myself, and I'm flattered, by the way,

of TV shows and books and what I'm eating and what I'm making and all of those fun things.

And I decided, why don't we open it up and ask your fellow prison guards what their favorites are at the moment?
