Summary

Happiness Magic Formula Is there a magic formula for happiness? Yes. It comes down to how you look at the world. Most folks do one of two things: 1) They view everything from an emotional place. When life is good, everything is excellent. When things go wrong, life is terrible. Remaining stuck in the emotional zone is like writing a letter in the sand with a rising tide; it will never stick around long enough to make you happy. 2) Others view the world from a black-and-white and logical perspective. Using your analytical brain for everything is like painting a wall black and expecting a rainbow of colors. But life is not always rational. I’ve found the best way is to naturally ride the highs and lows of emotions, tap into logic to navigate what crosses our path, and get back to the fun of emotions as soon as possible. Emotion + Logic + Emotion = Happiness. First and foremost, humans are emotional creatures that will not change. But logic allows us to sort through our feelings and make the best decision. Enjoying Bike Tober Fest because that makes me happy. What makes you happy? Are you happy? Are you getting out of bed every single day trying to be happy or seeking happiness? That's the big important thing. I think it's really one of the most important things in our life. In fact, if you pushed me to quarter, I might tell you that it's the only thing that's important is to find a way to be happy in every single minute of every single day. But what if there were a formula for doing it? There is. You know it already. You've already, if you're a realistic person, if you live in the world of Scott Logic,

obviously a common sense world. If you do that, you've already figured this out, but we're going to teach you about that a little bit later on today. Just in case you haven't or you need a reminder, it is a daily boost from motivation to move.com, the positive boost. You need every single day. We all need a little bit of a boost. I try to give it the entire show, but certainly near the end. I'm going to pump it up big time for you. Leave you with something to go. Yeah, that was worth my time today. Also teach you a few things about standing up, taking a step and repeating. How long until you get what you want? Why would you stop before you got what you wanted anyway? That's not going to be a happy and today shows all of

that happy, right? It's crazy stuff. I know. I speak in a getting what I want. My book is available. It's the five minute gratitude journal that you can do every single day. Go to Amazon search, five minute gratitude journal, Scott Smith. You'll find it. It's selling like crazy right now. And one other piece of I was keeping before I continue. I have been saying every single day this week that the YouTube channel is coming. Well, as of this moment of time, actually recording right now, it's all working. It's beautiful. It's great.

The insurmountable stuff that was not making me happy. I mean, why would you? Why would you stop before you got what you wanted anyway, right? You stand up. You take a step and repeat. And that's what I did. We've been doing that for weeks. Me and a bunch of other people. And it's finally there. So I'm crossing my fingers and hoping that you'll be able to see it very quickly. Probably Monday. Actually, that's what I'm thinking. My name is Scott Smith on the founder and the chief motivating officer here at Motivation to move.com. Great. Full of have you here today as we're talking about happiness. So in all my life, I remember the movie City Slickers and Curly.

And just before he died, he said, it's one thing. It's one thing. And ever since then, everybody I know has been trying to figure out what the one thing is. Some people know what it is. Billy Crystal tried to figure it out too. I think he figured it out as well. But did we ever figure out what the one thing was? I finally have come down to the one thing a few years ago. I got there. It's comes down to just being happy. And happiness to me became something like being content. I know sometimes we're just going to happy business. Let's get out and have a party.

3:00.0

Have you ever gone out and really had a party and done something very exciting? And yet it didn't make you happy.

3:05.0

So happy is his moment, by the way. I, this is a personal belief of mine. And you may or may not believe, but you can go along with this thought. If you want to, but I believe happiness instantly in the moment is impossible.

3:14.2

You can't be aware of your happiness, which is usually the problem. People go out and do stuff. I think it's going to make them happy. If you're not aware, whether it is or isn't, because you're kind of in the moment. And when you finally think about it, you're not in the moment anymore. And now the baby just pooped in the diaper and the second time this week, I said, poop.

3:28.2

I'm going to hear about that.

3:30.0

See, happiness is in the moment. It's a millisecond. So right now, I'm happy. It's gone.

3:34.5

Wait a second. Think about it for a second. It's a real time now. Am I happy?

3:39.2

Alone anymore. It was just a millisecond ago.

3:42.3

So I think it's hard to keep up with. And that's why you get to the other side of it. Your days, your long days, when I wrote the gratitude book, I did it a lot because I recognized that men in particular

were toiling throughout their day. And they were happily doing what they were doing. And yet when they thought back on it, there's like man or what a tough day it was.

3:59.3

So I wrote the gratitude journal so that they could question what they did. They can look at what they did throughout the course of the day and find that moment when they were really feeling good about themselves.

4:09.5

So there is a logical formula to being happy in life.

4:14.0

In fact, it goes back to stock times, you know, the stoics.

4:18.0

They were smart. Lots of rules, big school of philosophy coverage, just about everything, but they had formulas for lots of things.

4:25.4

And it kind of begins with you just really kind of look in the world for what it is. Your world view, if you will, has to be in the right spot to be happy.

4:33.2

But if you think about it, do you know happy people? Think about some happy people right now that you may know. And why are they happy?

4:41.9

Oh, so happy all the time. Why is that?
