When you're in the middle of a difficult moment, it feels like the whole world is crashing down on you.

But the truth is, even situations that go wrong can later actually become kind of fun stories when you look back on

them. I'm John Fuller along with Dr. Danny Huerta and he's in charge of our

parenting and youth department here at Focus on the Family. Let's go ahead and hear something about

perspective and time. Jim Daly and I talked with author and mom Tricia

Goyer who shared about a time when her family just decided to quit complaining

for a whole year. She explains now about a situation where that commitment to not complain was tested.

You also had, which I read this to Jean and she was mortified,

the story of you going to the mall for the stuffing of the bear I can't remember the name

the build a bear day we were cringing for you yes so tell the listeners what

happened that day and I would get in a safe place right now everybody.

Okay so I thought it would be a good idea to this builder bear was you pay your

age so if you were five years old you pay five bucks so we thought this would be a

fun thing it was kind of in the

middle of summer we had eight I had eight kids so we're in the mall there's hundreds of

people ahead of us well this is the point you show up there's hundreds of people and so then you know at first it's fun because we're like we're standing the mall

They're running to get snacks I'm passing out my credit card like crazy as we're standing in line and at first it's moving well I found

one later because people were leaving right but then it gets to be like five hours

six hours and I'm like guys I will take you to the store and buy you a bear like

we do not bear any size and they're like no they're having fun with it and then

when the last like seven hours you could see the storefront you were in this line for 10 hours

and that's the cringe factor.
