Hello and welcome to the By Ready Look Share, the No Chit Chat podcast.

We like to get right into it and what we're going to get into today is history and this

Republican 2024 presidential race.

There's some things about it that no one who is alive today has ever seen.

You know that Nikki Haley, former governor of South Carolina, former you in Ambassador

under Donald Trump, announced her candidacy for the 2024 Republican nomination on Wednesday.

Now, you know, she actually scooped herself and released a video, which was really a formal

announcement the day before, but then on Wednesday she had the big event, lots of cheering people

said to be a crowd of about 2000 in Charleston, who's kind of a live re-announcement of her

her candidacy. Now, the one thing that's really notable about this is that now the 2024

Republican presidential primary race is actually a real multi-candidate race.

I mean, before it was former President Trump, who entered the race last November 15th,

had it totally to himself and didn't really seem to be doing much of anything.

As a matter of fact, in response to criticisms that he wasn't really doing anything,

he had a couple of events recently, one in New Hampshire, one in South Carolina.

So anyway, Trump had it all to himself since last November and now it is Trump versus Haley.

Now, there are several other Republicans who are going to follow. We don't know how many,

but some, Ron DeSatis, the governor of Florida, that's the one everybody talks about.

Mike Pompeo, Mike Pence, Tim Scott, Glenn Youngkin, Ted Cruz, Chris Sanunu, others.

Now, each one of them, Nikki Haley and the others will be something of a first,

or at least the first in a very, very long time in this way. No one alive today has ever run a primary

place against an out-of-office president seeking the White House for a second non-consecutive time.
