Summary

What if God jumped in to take a talk radio call and answer a few questions from a ranting, bewildered, and frustrated believer who was fed up with all the moral decline, governmental corruption, and political shenanigans in the world? This, in essence, is exactly what happened to a man named Habakkuk who was frustrated that the bad guys were winning while the “good” guys were weeping. The honest to God book he penned recounts God’s answers to his questions about “why” things were so bad and “how long” God would let the world circle the drain before getting involved. In this first sermon in Habakkuk, we examine what it really means to live by faith – especially when you are frustrated with a world that is falling apart.

0:39.1	Hebacchic. And some months ago, I was driving and usually I listened to music on the commute. And
0:47.2	on this day, I thought I'm going to look over on talk radio, you know, one of those joy-filled,
0:53.2	happy places where people gather to encourage one another. And so I turned the knob. And if you're
0:58.6	under 20, it's something on the dash next to something called a CD player that we have on our
1:05.2	dinosaurs that we drive. So I turned the knob to AM and just sort of hit the scan and found a
1:11.2	talk radio show. I was interesting. And this guy called in, first time caller, I think. And so the
1:18.4	host says, oh, so and so, maybe it's Todd from Toledo. I don't know. Todd from Toledo. What do you
1:22.9	want to share with us? Here's how the guy starts the call. I'm so frustrated. That's what Todd
1:33.6	from Toledo said. And I thought, oh, okay, there we go. It's one way to start. Amen. That's one way
1:38.7	to start a conversation. And it got me thinking that this reminds me of the book of Habakkuk.
1:44.6	Because I'm a nerd. Okay. And so it reminded me of the book of Habakkuk because some books of the
1:50.0	Bible start very, very easy going, very gentle. Everybody on board, find your seat. Right. And so
1:57.6	some books of the Bible, like letters written by a guy named Paul, they start, he's like, I love you,
2:01.8	I'm in jail. I just think about you all the time. And I wrote a prayer for you. So just, you know,
2:07.6	plunk your harp and pet your bunny and drink your cow milk tea and read the prayer that I wrote for
