It's remarkable what people will tell you over a fat lunch.

Sat across from me today is a musician and broadcaster, frontman of the multi-award-winning

rock band Elbow. It's Guy Garvey. Look man, you introduced me to brains on toes and you

used it to smile. A cultural exchange. A cultural exchange has occurred.

So for this week's Out To Lunch, I've decided to bring Guy Garvey of Elbow to St John to describe

this as an influential restaurant is a major understatement. It's probably one of the most

influential restaurants in Britain today and it's celebrating its 25th anniversary as we speak.

It's famous for Chef Fergus Henderson's philosophy of No Sattel which is if you're going to bang

an animal on the head you should eat every bit of it. One of its key dishes is roasted bone marrow

on toes with a parsley salad which I may just have to order. It's setting an old smokehouse.

It's whitewashed. It's bare bones but the food never disappoints. I don't believe guys have

been here before and so I'm hoping to introduce him to a few things he's never eaten before.
