So obviously we reached out to talk to you and as everyone in fitness knows you've got a

specialization specifically pertaining to gut health but for anyone who's not aware of your background, do you mind giving us a little profile of who you are and what your background is?

Yeah, absolutely. So yeah, Dr. Gabriel Fondero, my PhD is from the Department of Human Nutrition

Foods and Exercise at Virginia Tech and I was actually studying in a skeletal

muscle physiology and biochemistry lab.

And as it turns out, sort of a series of serendipitous events

that seemed kind of unlucky at the time,

but have turned out fairly well,

led me to study the interactions between the microbiome and peripheral metabolism and specifically

looking at the potential for probiotic supplementation to be protective against some of the

deleterious effects of high-fat feeding in skeletal muscle metabolism and so I

worked with rodents there was also a subsequent study in humans. spoiler alert, probiotics are not really that helpful.
