| 0:35.4 | is its emphasis on absence, the absences of things. |
| 0:43.1 | And with some reflection we can appreciate that how much happiness can come from absence. |
| 0:52.4 | Right now I'm sitting where it's warm at IMC in the absence of the cold, |
| 0:58.5 | which is outside here. It looks like it might rain, and so it's absence of rain in this room. |
| 1:07.0 | I feel safe from the cold and the wet outside. It feels cozy and nice to have to be here. |
| 1:17.7 | Coming down to IMC this morning, there were beautiful sunrise in the slivers of empty space where the clouds weren't on the horizon. |
| 1:31.0 | So it was delighted by the beautiful colors, and the colors were there. |
| 1:38.1 | Partly, what stood out was the absence of clouds in those slivers, that slices of the sky. |
| 1:46.6 | Some, there can be the happiness of not having it to deal with any responsibilities. |
| 1:53.0 | To sit in meditation and not have to, you know, go to a meeting or do the chores or something. |
| 2:05.6 | It's just nice for the absence feels good. |
| 2:08.6 | Absence as a condition for a sense of contentment and happiness, |
| 2:16.6 | the absence of desires, absence of conceit, absence of hostility, |
| 2:24.5 | can feel so good, so wonderful. |
| 2:29.1 | Absence is not something that we're trained to focus on, |
| 2:36.5 | to look for. |
| 2:39.0 | The mind is always usually interested in something. |
| 2:43.0 | If we're thinking about a lot, we're thinking about something. |
