Today's 10-minute walk is helping you create a walking habit you're going to fall in love with.

I'm pretty convinced of that. Hi, I'm Dave. Today's walk, the temperature is mild. It's one of those

temperatures that is almost unnoticeable. Not too warm, not too cool. It's just right. I guess we can call

that the Goldilocks Day, the Goldilocks temperature. I'm walking on a trail covered by pine

needles and I've got trees both on the left and the right it's not a

long trail maybe two-tenths of a mile and I can see I can see the end of the trail

looking both ways and so I'll be on this for just a little bit of today's walk.

I have mused in the past during other episodes of the podcast about mail delivery,

and I've wondered, allowed, do people still deliver the mail while walking?

Because when I was growing up, that's how the mail came.

It was always the mail carrier, walking through the neighborhood, putting the mail in the mailbox.

And then the first house that Ava and I owned, where five of our kids were born,

the mail was delivered by a mail carrier who was walking. And at that point in my life, I was

working. Life was intense, it was stressful,

raising five children, going to work, all the stuff.

And I would look at that mail carrier going through the neighborhood

and think, I would love to have that job,

where I'm spending the day alone, because I'm an introvert,

spending the day alone, walking, delivering the mail.

That just seemed like a really cool job.

And then we moved.

And for the next 23 years we lived in an area where the mail was delivered by vehicle.
