Now we're going to the root crop world and how do you grow giant carrots. So I became

weirdly obsessed with watching all these YouTube videos about how UK growers are

doing giant root crops.

And so one way I've seen it done is building like a very, very long and tall,

like one square foot frame that you fill with sand and like poke a hole down in and just put compost

straight down in the hole.

I'm curious if that's the way that you guys do it Kevin and basically could you just kind of

talk us through how to grow absolutely massive carrots.

Yeah, we've got plenty of time so hopefully you'll learn some of our tips as well.

So in terms of carrots we've grown a carrot which is weighed 18

and a half pounds that's our biggest to date but the world's largest carrier is held

by a guy in in the US called Christopher Quayleon that was 22 pounds.

For us in terms of growing carrots we start the carrots off as seeds and I'll talk to you about how we develop those seeds in another podcast but in terms of the carousel they started off initially through

chitting so they'll go into like a plastic container with moist kitchen towel they're going to like an earring cupboard and then they'll be

germinating within two to three days then they're then transferred down into an

airport or air wrap or whatever pot you want and something we've learned is in terms of going from the

chitting to the initial transplant is trying to get the pot quite deep because what you're trying to do is the
