40 of Giant Veg. Today we're moving on to Chili Peppers. So Kevin has a

former Guinness Book of World Records for the largest

chili pepper and we're going to talk about how he did it. It's a little bit different

than what you heard yesterday as far as giant cabbages go because he did it in a

hydroponic system so Kevin could you kind of walk us through well first of all

how how big and what type of pepper was that and then could you walk us through how you got it to that size?

Yeah, so the pepper that we grew is a Poplano pepper.

The previous record was held by, it's quite apt, Ed Curry Curry who's a guy over in the US and our pepper

weigh 348 grams I don't know what that is in pounds but maybe you can have a

In terms of growing, as I said in previous podcast, we've developed our growing hydroponically as well as soil.

So this pepper was actually grown in a

hydroponic system called a go-grow system and that is a gravity-fed irrigation system.

And for us it was really really interesting because that was our second year and

growing the previous year we grew the UK's biggest bell pepper and that was grown

hydroponically and we took part in a program called Country File which is on BBC and that was really just about

Show casing hydroponic growing and for me I think hydroponic growing is grown is quite a relatively easy way to grow.

For a novice and someone who started out if you don't have sufficient space in your backyard or your back garden.

You can have a pot with a reservoir next to it

and grow your own tomatoes or whatever you want to do. But for us in terms of growing the pepper we started the seed off in
