I'm Clyde Lewis, and this is Ground Zero.

I got to say a few days ago, we're talking about hooded figures everywhere.

Now we're seeing them on the news.

It's because it's cold. People are wearing hoods and coats. And they're covering up super cold today. What is it? The average temperature in the United States is 14.8 degrees. We got a good here where I am. We've got just rain coming down on the sky. And usually rain means warmer temperatures. So I hate to rub it in. But, you know, I know people in Florida are going, yeah, we're in the 70s and 80s. We're happy. But here in a place where winter is winter, we are at about 45 or 41. So I guess we have it pretty good. And, you know, we did have a cold spell set in in the beginning.

That's why when we were talking with, when we were talking earlier about the, what we called

the Omega Lock, which turned out to be the polar vortex, that transpired.

We gave you good enough warning, I hope.

It was a long ago we were talking about this because I felt it was something that needed to be talked about earlier so people could be prepared for it.

And looking over the various headlines today, I noticed that many of the topics we discussed in 2013 are now part of the mainstream headlines.

Now we're in 2014. So we kind of like stepped over and now everything's kind of like

happening at once and when this happens I wind up uh in a dilemma as to which stories are

going to wind up getting more attention and which stories I should present to my audience and then I

say to myself well you know what I don't want to tread over old ground uh we've talked about these

things when other talk shows are now discussing uh well, they're discussing the cold, which, of course, is the big news story now.

But it was a news story on our program a while ago when we were talking about, you know, the whole global warming thing.

We, you know, we were talking about, you know, what the freeze is going to be and we discussed that

the freeze would set in right before Christmas and it did and we've been having

this relentless cold it gets colder and colder it seems and also I thought after

Christmas we discussed this but it was just before Christmas we discussed the

nuclear winter which you know now many people are concerned about Fukushima, a lot of, you know, a lot of news being gathered and talked about.
