Summary
🎙️ Throwback Thursdays on Sober Awkward!
Every Thursday, we’re serving up a little slice of Sober Awkward history – a short, powerful clip from one of our most-loved past episodes.
Why? Because sometimes, the right words hit differently the second time around. Whether you’re new here or a long-time listener, these throwback moments are here to keep you company, remind you you’re not alone, and offer that little nudge of insight or encouragement just when you need it.
Think of it as a midweek check-in. Something bite-sized to walk with, laugh at, or quietly reflect on. And if the clip hits home? You can go back and listen to the full episode anytime – just follow the link in the show notes.
We know one episode a week isn’t always enough – so here’s your extra helping of honesty, humour, and a bit of awkwardness to get you through the week.

| 0:55.4 | lessons I've learnt about grief through my other podcast. The truth is, I hope that you only experience |
| 1:00.9 | grief a handful of times in your life, but you will have plenty of friends who will also experience it, |
| 1:06.6 | so you'll probably have to help them through theirs 30, 40, 50 times throughout your life. That's a good point, Hame. If we can all improve the way we help those we love through grief, then they might never get to the point where they feel they need to turn to the bottle for support. Yeah. I've interviewed lots of friends of mine at different stages of grief. And there are a few things that came up more than once. So if you don't have time or energy, or you just can't be asked to go and listen to all of the episodes, but here are some of the top tips that I've learned through that podcast. Can you tell us what your podcast was called, Hamish? Yes, extraordinary, ordinary people. Great. And you'll find it's a big black and white shot of my face is the thing, so you can't miss it. |
| 1:44.6 | Love your face, though. |

| 2:00.7 | It requires no energy, no effort, |
| 2:03.4 | even if it's very thought-provoking and beautifully written, they will not have that text |
| 2:08.4 | in six months' time. Instead, here's what you're going to do. You're going to sit down and |
| 2:13.1 | you're going to write a letter. I know that sounds dated, but there's something very important about handwritten |
