Welcome to the Gary Neville podcast, which is coming to tonight from Villa Park, where Gary and I have just watched Manchester United achieve another victory.

17 games now unbeaten for Olly Gunnar Salshire's team. It's a remarkable run, Gary.

It is. And I play with real confidence, arrogance. And certainly, particularly when they play against teams now who are in the lower end of the

table which they have struggled against in the last couple of years to break them down they now look

like they look authoritative in the games they've got possession they've got control they're

patient there are times where they're walking with the ball in the first half at one they'll up and

if you were doing that and you weren't sure you'd be saying well why they're not getting the ball in the first half at 1.0. If you were doing that and you weren't sure, you'd be saying, well, why are they not

getting the game by the scruff of the net? But they're so sure now. They feel confident that

they can just all of a sudden inject a little bit of quality, whether it's Fernandez,

whether it's Pogba, whether it's Greenwood, Marseille, Rastford. They've got so many options. They're all playing well that United now are looking formidable and they

weren't, as you say, for large parts of the early, earlier on in the season. I have to say,

still not there in terms of city and Liverpool. That's where they've got to get to. But

they're on an upward trajectory and certainly looking a lot better than they were. And there's

cause for optimism when you were thinking there wasn't a midfield,

you were thinking Pogba was going to leave,

you're thinking they didn't have a right wing and all of some

Greenwoods appeared. The back four looked shaky and

goalkeeper earlier on in the season.

They've got themselves together a little bit,

even though there's still improvement to be made.

It's looking a lot more positive. Not a time to get carried away.

Still a time to invest and improve the squad because the starting 11 still needs to improve.
