What is up everyone?

What is up everyone? Welcome back to the Epic Gardening Podcast. Today is a

special day because we're kicking off the podcast that almost never happened. We have

Nicole Burke who is the founder of Rooted Garden and

Gardeneri who I think Nicole we've been following each other for

years now right? I've been following you for years for sure. It's at

least three years now on Instagram and sort of have been internet friends for a long

time and try to get on the podcast a few times, but we're finally here.

So Nicole is the author of the upcoming book, Kitchen Garden Revival.

So right up my alley and I love everything she posts on Instagram and everywhere else that she is on the internet.

And so we're going to kick it off.

And the first topic couldn't be a better one.

It's about the idea that Green Thumbs really don't exist, that we kind of need to throw that idea away and I think we can do

that by sort of hearing your story Nicole.

Yeah I love kind of challenging this. I just did a talk yesterday and I said

okay everyone have you ever heard of a green thumb they all raise their hand and I said how okay, everyone, have you ever heard of a green thumb?

They all raise their hand.

And I said, how many of you have said you don't have one?

And everybody kept their hands up.

So, yeah, I grew up.

So I have a family history of horticulture my grandfather was the head of

horticulture at Mississippi State University I'm a southern girl you're a California
