What's up, fellas? Welcome back to Combos Over Cool Brew with me, your host, Emma Abrahamson.

0:05.4

Today, I'm so excited. We are bringing Grayson Murphy back on the podcast. It's been about, I think, like, over two years since she's been on.

0:12.7

She's been absolutely crushing it in the mountain running and the trail running scene and the roads as well.

0:18.8

Earlier this year, she already qualified to the Olympic trials marathon, so this episode was super fun.

0:23.6

When we talk a lot about, you know, her training, the mountain running in general, how it's different than, like, the elite track world scene.

0:30.4

We talk a little bit about social media and much more, so stay tuned.

0:33.9

All right, Grayson Murphy back on the podcast. I had a look at when the last time you were on was and it was literally April of 2021.

0:59.7

So it's been a lot of time. Yeah, that's a, I didn't realize it'd been that long. I know, me neither. I feel like it's just time has been flying by, so I'm not scary, but you've been crushing it.

1:11.7

I mean, I feel like every time I go on Instagram, it's like, you have a new US title and you're like mountain. So yeah, I can't complain racing up mountains.

1:19.9

Yeah, before we get into all that, do you want to just give us a little bit of a rundown of who you are? What you're about?

1:27.5

Yes, I am Grayson Murphy. I run on lots of different surfaces and I'm at two time world champion mountain.

1:38.5

Lots of different surfaces. That's a good way to put it. Yeah, like, because I know the last time that we talked, it's like you were doing, you were doing it all.

1:45.8

You were doing track, row racing and trail racing and mountain racing. Yeah, I don't even know how you can balance any sort of training with that, but you obviously do a good job.

1:56.0

Are you still doing all of those or have you narrowed it down at all?

1:59.9

I'm pretty much still. I've kind of cut out, well, this year was weird because worlds for mountain running was in June. Normally, it's like November.

2:09.3

So this year, I had to cut out track because just the way the schedules worked, I couldn't do track and mountain running simultaneously.

2:18.7

So this year's been mostly well all road and trail, no track. Why was it in June? I remember because I went world mountain running championships.

2:26.9

I've like, I've never heard times in my... I have pictures of you now that they gave me.

2:33.1

I actually have said that I've been to the world mountain running championships, like too many times for how like, mediocre I did there.

2:40.3

And like, how brief my stint was as a mountain runner.

2:43.7

I remember it was, it was always in like September.

2:46.3

Yeah, yeah, it's usually later. I think because they combined, well, so they used to, they try and piggyback it on like existing races already.
