And while I am going to ask you to take a couple of purposeful deep breaths in and out, please do not close your eyes for this meditation.

And if you want to be super rebellious and close your eyes anyway, that's fine. You're going to do what you want to do.

But you may find after you do that, and we get into the meditation that you want to open your eyes. And that's okay too.

So beginning by taking the first of three purposeful breaths in and out, maybe you want to do it in through your nose and out through your mouth.

Maybe you want to do it all in your nose or all in your mouth. You choose. But starting now with those three purposeful breaths in and out.

So next, what I invite you to do is take a look around the space that you find yourself in right now.

And look around and find things that you can have gratitude or appreciation for. And actually say full sentences silently in your mind.

Like I appreciate the way the sun is coming through the window right now.

Or I have gratitude for the sound of my dog's snore as he lays in the bed. And just looking around the space. And I'm going to be quiet for a good minute and a half.
