Did Christ die for the sins of all people? Yes, we believe that Jesus Christ died for the sins of every single man, woman, boy, and girl.

And we want to demonstrate that today biblically. Dr. David Allen, a leading

scholar on the doctrine of atonement, wrote, ultimately, I believe any doctrine that does not

comport with Scripture will be damaging to the Church. I do not believe limited atonement

comports with Scripture. Neither do many of my reformed brethren,

as a careful study of church history from the Reformation to the present, demonstrates.

Scripture seems to clearly assert that Christ died for the sins of all people.

As 1 John 2.2 states, he is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours, but also

for the sins of the whole world. He continues in 1. John 4.14, stating,

And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his son to be the Savior of the world.

Christ is the propitiation for our sins, and not ours only, but also for the whole world, and he is the quote, Savior of the world.

Notice that the word world occurs 28 times in 1 John, 26 of which are used either in a comprehensive

sense or, more narrowly, as the world of the unsaved. This makes it very unlikely that

verse 2 of chapter 2 and verse 14 of chapter 4 refer to a world of the elect as our Calvinistic friends attempt to argue.

As 1 Timothy 410 states,

that is why we labor and strive because we have put our hope in the living God

who is the savior of all people and especially of those who believe. And 2.1 says,

but there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you.

They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who

bought them, bringing swift destruction on themselves.

Notice that the apostle recognizes the destruction of false teachers,

while also acknowledging the fact that they were bought by the blood of Christ.
