Welcome to today's guided prayer.

One thing I want us to consider today as we talk to God, as we come to God,

is that we don't need to bring a polished self to him when we pray.

We can come in the midst of pain or mess or any level of feeling low or inadequate.

We can bring all of that to God.

And no matter, you know, what it is we're facing, God cares and he listens.

And I love in the scripture we're going to pray through today Psalm 42 and verse 5 how the

psalmist is an example of that it says why are you down in the dumps dear soul why are you crying the

blues fix my eyes on god soon i'll be praising. He puts a smile on my face. He's my God.

And in another translation it says, so then my soul, why would you be depressed? Why would you sink into despair?

Just keep hoping and waiting on God your Savior. For no matter what,

I will still sing with praise for you are my saving grace. So today as we pray, let's start with fixing our eyes on God. He is our Savior. Let's wait on him. He is the God of hope. Let's keep waiting and hoping. God never lets us down. he puts a smile on our faces. God, we set our attention.

We fix our eyes on you today. We focus our hearts on the one who cares the very most.

Thank you, God, that we can put our hope in you. When people have let us down, when things have let us down, when we're feeling low, you are our hope and we can

trust in you. God, thank you that you are our saving grace. And no matter what

circumstances or situations we might be facing today, you put a smile on our face. Just say that

to God. You put a smile on my face, God. Thank you that you're trustworthy. Now let's take a few

moments to talk to God about any specific challenges that you're facing. You can give him your worries, your fears, your frustrations. Let's yield

any sadness, any depression. Let's yield it to him today. God, today we give you those specific

things that we're facing, those frustrations, those insurmountable

obstacles. God, we know that you are big and you are good and we can trust you with it all.

So we yield. God, we yield our soul to you. God, we say, why are you down in the dobs to your
