We're starting a new book this morning, Nahum. So why don't you grab your Bible and open to the

place where your pages stick together in your Bible? The gold leaf has not been broken. I say that

jokingly, but you know what's funny is you'll find most churches, you'll not see them go through

the book of Nahum.

In fact, I bet there's pastors out there that have never preached one sermon from the book of Nahum.

And the reason why, well, you know, the book of Naham is about the destruction of Nineveh.

It's more of the Old Testament blood and guts. You know, it's that part of the Old Testament

that some people don't like to read and hear about.

And some churches, you know, pastors can just kind of focus

on their favorite scriptures.

And I think that's okay.

There's some great sermons that come from churches like that.

But my question is, are you covering the full counsel of God? I love what Paul said

there in Acts 20. We have not shunned to declare unto you the whole counsel of God. And some churches,

I think they would skip over Na'am because, man, it's just kind of not so fun. It's kind of a

blood and guts, brutal Old Testament. You know, Andrew Stanley said, we need to, you know, disconnect ourselves

or unhitch ourselves from the Old Testament.

Huge goof.

Paul told young Timothy,

he said, all scripture is inspired,

or God breathed,

and it's good for instruction, correction, and reproof.
