Okay, my friends, I have broken down some Taylor Swift lyrics on the podcast before.

And today, I would like to do that with one of her tracks on her latest album, The Life of a Showgirl, the Life of a

Showgirl, called Ruin the Friendship. Now, there was a lot of gossip around whether or not

this is going to be about Blake Lively and their perceived feud happening with the lawsuit that's

going on with her right now, the movie that she did a couple of years ago, the Taylor Lentner

song too. And on this new album, the song

Ruin the Friendship. There was a lot of anticipation around it as she was teasing it. It's actually

about something really beautiful. It's about a boy who she loved in her teenage years.

Now, I'm going to fill in the blanks of it now. I don't know all the

facts, but this is how the song reads and this is also what I read in the press about it.

Taylor had a good friend when she was growing up, but they never kissed. There was never

anything between them because she didn't want to, as the title of the song says, ruin the

friendship. And she talks about how they

kind of danced around each other and the great memories that they had. And then one day,

her friend called with the bad news that this friend committed suicide. And she flies home.

She actually set on a stage once. I flew home. I lost a friend yesterday. I sang at his funeral.

And the song, Ruin the Friendship, actually has some words of advice from Taylor that can apply

to anything. It can apply to friendship. It can apply to business. It can apply to anything that matters to us.

She says, my advice is ruin the friendship. Better to answer the

question than ask it for the rest of your life. Now, they're not the exact words,

but you get the drift, right? She's like, ruin the friendship. Figure it out, try it, take the risk, it's worth it.
