I'm wondering what you're thinking about the risks are for a global recession

because of where we are with Ukraine, because of where we are,

with the tightening of monetary policy raising of interest rates,

where we are with energy prices.

It's important to note that in this context of Russia,

we're not only talking about a spike of oil prices, but also natural gas,

and other commodities, metals, foods,

brushes, and Ukraine are significant exporters of all of these.

And so what's unique about the shock that we're going through right now is that it's not

localized to one commodity. You know, this is not an oil embargo.

It is a shock across the whole commodity space.

Mark Finley is the fellow in energy and global oil at Rice University's Baker Institute.

He is the former senior U.S. economist at British Petroleum and a former CIA energy analyst.
