All right, Dr. Livingston. Welcome to The Man Talk Show. How are you doing today? And we're really well. I'll be doing better if you call me Glenn. Okay. I wasn't sure. You know, I see the PhD. I have a buddy that is in one of my men's groups and he's a PhD. And his last name is Goldberg. And oftentimes when I'm just wanting to rub him, I'll be like, What's going on, Dr. Goldberg?

0:22.3

It's like, come on, man.

0:23.2

But, you know, the doctor stuff and all the credentials that gets people's attention, but I really prefer not to stand on ceremony, and I'd rather be more approachable as Glenn. And my nine-year-old patients used to call me Dr. Glenn a long time ago. I like that. Yeah.

0:38.3

I like that.

0:41.3

Well, we are going to have a very interesting conversation. I'm going to preface the show today with just a little precursor to why I wanted to have you on.

0:48.5

I think that in many ways, health, longevity, a lot of these things come from and are very directly impacted by

0:58.4

what we eat, how much we eat. And for me, how much I have ate has always been a bit of a

1:04.1

problem. I think I told you before the show, like my nickname growing up was the garbage disposal,

1:08.9

the human garbage disposal to my family.

1:16.3

And, you know, after a meal was done, all the food would just sort of gravitate towards my side of the table. And I'd be, you know, cleaning up the, you know, whatever other people didn't

1:21.3

eat and whatever was left on the table. And it was, you know, it was kind of fun when I was a young

1:26.7

guy.

1:36.3

But as I got in my 20s and my mid-20s, even towards the end of my 20s, I wasn't very happy with how my body looked.

1:41.6

And I wasn't wildly out of shape, but I definitely wasn't in great shape.

1:45.1

And I could never seem to strike that balance, even though I worked out four or five days a week at some one point I was working construction. And so I want to have this

1:50.5

conversation about how do we deal with things like cravings? How do we approach eating in a healthy way?

1:57.8

What's happening biologically within us that we need to know about. So I'm

2:02.1

excited for this, for my own personal benefit for a number of reasons, which I'm sure we'll continue

2:07.8

to talk about. But I think a lot of people will benefit from this. I know a lot of guys in the

2:13.0

alliance, which is the men's group that we have, have gone on a journey of,

2:18.2

we've got about six,

2:19.3

six, seven hundred guys in there now,
