As media companies roll back DEI initiatives and cut LGBTQ content under pressure from the Trump administration,

glad president and CEO Sarah Kate Ellis says most studios are bending the knee reluctantly.

Any business person will tell you that you have to market to and attract these populations.

And so what the administration is doing is cutting off corporate's ability to market the way that they need to market to build their business.

Ellis joins us to discuss Glad's 2025 Studio Respons index, which evaluates LGBTQ inclusivity in films.

Spoiler, both Disney and Netflix got a poor rating.

She also shares why she feels optimistic about the newly elected Pope Leo.

Hi there.

So, Disney and Universal have banded it together,

and they are suing a startup image generator called Mid Journey. This is an AI operation, and it seems that they have

allegedly helped themselves to all manner of Disney and universal characters, and then they

come up with characters. Now, I'm going to admit that I have a little bit of an ax to grind here,

because as I may have mentioned before, they had trained AI using one of my books

without so much as buy your leave or here's five bucks. So I kind of have to admit that I may be a

little biased. Well, and imagine, take your book and then multiply it by the factor of popularity

of Homer Simpson and Yoda and Darth Vader and the minions.

So it's a little bit of a higher stakes for Disney and Universal.
