Loves Raymond. Now he's still in the game with his Netflix unscripted show,

somebody feed Phil. But the TV business ain't what it used to be.

I once had lunch with Larry Gelbart, the great comedy writer, and Norman Lear.

They asked me, what's it like to pitch a show now to the network?

And I started to explain it, and Larry said to Norman, we're dying just in time.

Sometimes I feel that way.

Phil Rosenthal talks with Eric Diggans about the slow death of the sitcom and

finding success by pitching his food and travel show as Anthony Bourdain if he was afraid of

everything. He also laments that embracing people from other cultures somehow has become politicized.

I am joined by my partner in banter. Matt Bellany. Hello, Matt. Hi there. So, as the Skydance

paramount deal crawls toward either completion or oblivion, we have learned that the mediator who was supposed to be working out

the impasse between Donald Trump, who has sued CBS News for $20 billion for their interview

with Kamala Harris before the election, claiming he was done dirty. This is, I think,

the consensus widely, a meritless lawsuit.

CBS News and 60 Minutes did what they always do, and there's nothing unusual, but he is making a little

cottage industry out of suing media companies. So his lawsuit that is preventing the Paramount

Skydance deal because somehow the FCC is not approving this deal and it seems pretty

clear that unless the president is paid, there will be no deal. They've gotten this mediator and he

has proposed that Paramount Global should pay $20 million, which would include a $17 million donation to his, to Trump's presidential
