Morning one last morning in the mountains then before tomorrow morning we wake in

Rome which seems like a distant prospect. I started to feel like I had a real

temperature last night which is a bit worrying. Don't feel 100% this morning and

spent a lot of the night consciously because of when I was awake and

unconsciously worrying about whether or not I was even going to be able to work

today and commentate on the ridiculous individual time trial that arrived

his face today. As you can tell I have a semi-functioning voice. I have a

broad-cast partner in Matt Stevens. I have no dreams that need

interpreting by David Miller. I have a view once again of blue skies, fruit trees,

meadows, obviously a road not too far away along which massive lorries are

thundering, slightly spawning the acoustics, bird song, dolomites and woods and

somewhere up in those dolomites is a tiny farm track that has rotted tarmacs

and drains running across it and steep gradients all the way to the top which

Mauro Venni has decided to make the riders race up one by one.

Well that was amazing. So this is like the third or fourth Slovenian cycling

fan in the space of the last 20 minutes who stopped you in picture of delight

on their face but this time is even different as a family and the mother

assuming it's a mother spotted you walking past. Is that the real Stevens?

Yeah it's kind of quite a quite interesting internet handle. Yeah yeah that's

really nice isn't it but it's nice for you because we're just discussing you

know when inevitably things I don't know dry up. Well this is when the phone
