Summary

A stage designed perfectly for the breakaway with a long climb that would be too hard for the sprinters and an uphill rise of 3km at 6.5% gradient that was not enough to entice the GC riders out of slumber.

Welcome back to the Lantern Rouge Cycling Podcast with Benji Naisen.

0:03.3

He's got Haussler and Aaron Baroo, I'm Riz Rott Scholder.

0:06.0

This is the recap of the year at Italia stage 8 from Foggy up to Guarantea.

0:11.4

Sun from Monde, Benji Nais told you 11 days ago.

0:14.6

Now one break where we told you in the preview yesterday, it's going to be a

0:18.2

breakway type stage.

0:19.5

0:33.8

0:40.5

k's of that before the climb proper is sort of an annoying uphill around

0:44.8

Castel, then there are 171 k's out of the stage start, Benji, because it was

0:50.3

truly, there was a bit of GC action sort of at the start.

0:54.0

Yes, surprisingly, because as well we expected the first part of the stage to be

0:57.8

pretty chaotic when it comes to the breakaway trying to form and the fact that we had

1:02.4

crosswind options was not helping that too much because every single time that someone

1:07.9

would get away, the Peloton would realize, oh there's perhaps someone important in there

1:12.4

and close it again and then some other people tried to attack over that and close that

1:15.5

gap again and suddenly there was Bernoulli in a group that got away and it wasn't like

1:21.5

he was suddenly there.
