Welcome back to Lantern Rouge cycling podcast for our first grant to a preview of the year, the

Giro d'Italia, the Malvia Rosa up for grabs, recorded this Tuesday morning before it kicks off

on the Saturday. We know Italian races love to start on the Saturday and we're doing our best

with the start list, but we got who we need to who we need to know to be confirmed. They're

confirmed. So I'm g'd up, but a month of racing, Benji's coming and Luke, our producer in person

in two days to Andoro so he can just watch it on the one TV and make their pod even better. But

how you feeling for the Giro Benji? Is there Giro fever in Belgium or would you say it's a bit muted

compared to maybe when Remco was returning from his crash two years ago?

Ooh, interesting. I feel like there is quite a bit of Giro fever. I see a lot of like Giro talk on

the internet when he comes to the media and so forth. Yeah. Whether it's as much as in the past,

I'm not sure. I think at a certain point, people get a bit muted when he comes through the hype

of certain riders. Maybe that went a bit downhill, but I would say that Remco is still definitely

on the front of each of our newspaper going into this Giro multiple times. So whether that's one

article or two articles less than usual, no clue. I would say that for me, there's Giro fever.

I love Giro. And especially when there's like, I don't know, with the Giro, there's always the

third week, you know, we'll talk about it later throughout the parkour and so forth, but that third

week, once again, has some stage I'm really looking forward to. It's also a stage in week two,

where I'm like, oh, come the way until that happens. But what's your Giro fever like?

It's good. I can't wait to see. I'm hoping fingers crossed as week three stages you mentioned.

I want them to happen because there will be a historical stage. One of these stages has to be

historical. Like goes into the archivers all time great because they are ridiculously hard. And

this is how we're going to structure this preview. We are going to do a brief overview of the route
