Welcome back to the Lantern Rouge cycling podcast with Benji Naisen. This is the Jiro

0:04.9

to tell you at stage 18 and they've worked for Espania stage 3 recap. We're all to you by our

0:10.8

partner LeCole, LeCole to produce performance, road cycling apparel and that was shown in the

0:18.0

Jiro stage, particularly today. We'll talk about the cold descent off the back of the Stelvio

0:23.1

when we get into it in the middle of the pod. But if you want to check out any of LeCole's kit,

0:27.7

you can see them at www.locole.ccle.cc and that's exactly the same caliber of kit at the

0:38.3

Bahrain, the Claren Guys we're wearing in the Jiro today. If you want to enter it as well,

0:43.5

to get yourself 15% off the code LR015 at checkout, that's well the Jiro is continuing that code.

0:53.3

And then I have a new one afterwards but we don't know yet, but yeah LR015 at checkout for 15% off.

0:59.8

But this Jiro stage 18 was the one we've been waiting for from Pinzolo to Logi de Campano. It obviously

1:05.6

had the Stelvio climb, smack bang in the middle of it, not the last climb of the day though,

1:11.2

208 km stage starts off 14.2 km, 5.8% out the door, out the neutral zone, then they had the

1:20.3

casturing climb, 8.6 km at 8.9%, 9% these are all a lot of calories being burnt in the first

1:27.6

third of this stage. Then a long valley flat section before the Stelvio 25 km at 7.5% the Chima

1:36.0

Poppy climb in this year's Jiro, meaning it goes to the highest point in the race up to 2750 meters

1:43.2

altitude, so proper high altitude climb, long, cold descent with many a hairpin down to Izolacio

1:51.3

Validentro, where there was the second intermediate sprint just before the last climb. So bonus seconds

1:56.7

remember, are available in the Jiro the second intermediate sprint of the day, not sprint points.

2:02.9

Then they had the final last final climb of the day, now a hilltop finish, the Tori di Freire,

2:08.3

9 km at 6.8%, a brutal stage, 55-100 meters of climbing, we thought a break was doomed,

2:16.2

just because the best climbers were going to rush to the top here. But there was some interesting

2:21.9

breakaway action, Benji, because we love to see people fighting over different jerseys in the
