He'll be back next week. But first, to joining us on the podcast today is Giovanni Churchill, director of the Three Revolution's Future Mobility

Program at the Institute for Transportation Studies at the University of California Davis.

We spoke with Giovanni about electric vehicles and California's directive for all new cars sold there to be zero emission by 2035, emerging mobility services, ride hailing, and mobility infrastructure in cities.

First, though, Leslie, I was wondering what has been cooking in the mobility world this week.

It just seems like every week is busier and this one was no

exception. Yeah, so maybe this is a sign that things might at some point return to

normal. We had some news on the EV and AV front. For example, one of the biggest stories this week, Alexa, was the unveiling of the GMC Hummer Edition 1.

Yes, you heard that right, the GMC Hummer.

You guys might remember the large SUV

that was pretty big, if you will, on the market several years ago.

Well, now it is back as an electric pickup.

And it is now under the GMC brand.

So it should be an interesting play for General Motors. I just watched a five minute video about this vehicle and it's got some pretty interesting numbers.

For example, it can go 0 to 60 in 3 seconds,

about 1,000 horsepower equivalent, 11,500 foot

pounds of torque, or sometimes people say pound feet. I'm not sure which one is the right one.

Well, anyway, the bottom line, it seems like it's a pretty powerful vehicle. And one thing that's also kind of interesting is that

General Motors is going to be selling this using a no-happo policy the price is
