Tonight we're here to recap the Giants day two of the 2024 NFL draft.

It was an interesting one, Nick.

At the beginning of day two, I liked how it started, two receivers off the board, early trade-ups.

Then there were some panic in my group chats, my Giants fans group chats.

Specifically, I'm shouting out Ron and Matt Schneier, who had a lot of panic and they were talking already about how they were done with Joe Shane. It recovered because I think despite the fact that we had that run, Nick, of a lot of the IDLs we wanted, a couple of the interior offensive line we wanted a lot. Let's be frank, are the corners we wanted? And we don't know. Like, let's be honest.

We don't know if the Giants would have taken Nubin over Kool-Aid or Nubin over some of the Degene or some of these corners that went before the Giants pick. But it was looking kind of dire at that time as we saw all the players we wanted, the positions of the need come off the board. But I really feel like the Giants did a really excellent job of recovering here.

And it's not just like I can sit here and say that.

I think if you look at just how some of the people we respect the most in this community view some of these picks, Dale and Jeremiah had these two prospects number 51 and number 52 overall on his big board. The Giants got them at 47 and 70. Dame Bruegler had Andrew Phillips as one of his favorite players in the

entire class. PFF's Trevor Sycambe, we've had on the show, had Nubina's 31st-ranked player

on the entire big board. It's not like the Giants just sat there, panicked, and reached for players.

I feel like they fit fit needs, and quite frankly, they fit their scheme really well.

That's what I think with both of these picks

they fit a combination of two things the schemes the scheme fit that they're bringing in with

chain bowen and we knew nick like going into this thing like they drafted a lot of defensive backs

to fit wing barndale obviously they were going to want to try to bring in guys fit chain

bone because the system was so different um what they're going to be asked so different

but in addition to that i like that they've all both these corners have the same trait that fight It's a fit chain bone because the system was so different. What they're going to be asked is so different.
