| 0:17.6 | I joined as always my co-host, Nick Falado, coming to you live to recap Giants day three of the NFL draft 24. Obviously, draft still rolling on. We're in round six, but the Giants do not have any draft picks left. So we'll be monitoring just in case potentially we see something where the Giants trade back into round six or round seven, which I find pretty unlikely, Nick. but we're going to keep an eye out in case it happens because we don't want to be caught off guard. But we're going to do this show now as if this is the end of day three, and they've made three draft picks on day three. I'll just, you know, start this thing off by saying, obviously anyone who's listened to this podcast and who's listened to every one of our shows. And if you're new to the podcast, you might not know this. But for those who have listened all the shows, listen to our My Guys show, which was only a few days before the draft. And the Giants drafted two of my guys today in the day three of the NFL draft. I put them on my targets list. They were both two of my top five targets for the day before day three even started with round four. Giants got one at the beginning of round four. That's about where the value I expected. And then they patiently waited the other position at running back. And a lot of good running back came off the board as they didn't have that fifth round pick after they traded the Panthers. And yet they still got a guy who I had as my third favorite running back to get on today. And I could have even been argued into having as my second favorite running back. The more I think about it, the more I like him. We're going to go over both of these players. The Giants selected Theo Johnson, the tight end at a Penn State and Tyrone Tracy, the converted receiver running back out of, out of Purdue. And then they also got a linebacker there finally. Darius Musaal, the linebacker out of, I hope that's how you say his name, Nick. I have no idea. The linebacker out of UCLA. You sounded so confident that I was like, okay, Dan. I was like, damn, bro, you came prepared to say this dude's name. And it looks like it looks like it could be pronounced. It looks like it could be right. Darrys and maybe it's Daris Moussel. Darius Moussel, the linebaker tackling machine out of, at least the collegiate level he was at UCLA. So let's start with you, Nick. How are you feeling about |
| 2:18.5 | their day three haul? Hey, they didn't do any trades in this draft. They didn't move up. They |
| 2:23.0 | didn't move down. And Theo Johnson was a my guy as well. I thought he was going to absolutely |
| 2:27.9 | blow up the combine based on the tape that I saw. And he went to the combine and he did that. |
| 2:32.8 | And I actually had a low second round grade on him. So to get him at 107 was something that I'm very excited about. I understand that he wasn't the most productive guy at Penn State, Penn State's offense, a little bit strange in that regard. This is somebody who could be a dual threat type of option at the tight end position. He can block or at least he has the frame to. And he has some solid tape block. I'm not going to sit here and act like he is a dominant blocker, but he's a functioning blocker and a 12 personnel double Y set with him and Daniel Bellinger. Those are two plus blockers. And you got Chris Mannhirts and Jack stole. So the tight end room looks so much better right now, Dan, when it comes to blocking. I love the Tyrone Tracy, junior pick. I do because if you watched him at Iowa and everyone who listens to this podcast |
| 2:51.7 | knows Iowa, not exactly the passing offense that many, many would like to watch. It's actually a pretty gross offense. And it was his entire time there with Brian Farrant as our offensive coordinator, not to throw the guy under the bus. But he goes to Purdue, man, and in the last year, I don't like that he's a little bit older, |
| 3:26.4 | but in his last year, he was like, hey, can you switch to running back? |
| 3:27.9 | You would think that this guy would just be like, have absolutely no clue how to read blocks in front of him. I think he could be a little bit more patient, but holy shit, dude, he has tape where he's reading blocks. He is exercising some patience and he is hitting the hole and then the contact |
| 3:24.7 | balance. He's very, very tough with the football in his hands. And he's breaking tackles. And I wouldn't say he's like Shady McCoy type of fluidity, but he can make you miss in an instant too. He's pretty sudden with his quick one cut ability. So adding him, I think that's a core special teamer who might push Gunnarolshek for some return value as well on this roster. And I just think you can design so many cool packages with him. We know Joe Shane wanted to get explosive on offense. Well, Malik neighbors helped that. So did Tyrone Tracy Jr. Don't have much on the UCLA kid. No, he has a ton of special teams experience. he's going to just be depth behind McFadden and and Bobby O'Caricay at this point. |
| 3:58.1 | And we'll follow back in the coming. He has a ton of special teams experience. He's going to just be depth behind McFadden and Bobby O'Caricay at this point. |
| 4:16.3 | And we'll follow back in the coming days and weeks to discuss him as I get more eyes on tape. |
| 4:21.9 | Yeah, just to give a little quick rundown of what we'll probably do today on this show. |
| 4:26.4 | We'll discuss a little bit about Musao, but not much because I haven't, you know, it's a, I said this every draft, but I'm not going to get to every prospect. I didn't, I didn't watch any of him at all or really track any of him before this draft. That's going to happen with a lot of the fifth and six rounders. Luckily, the Giants drafted two players I got a chance to watch a lot of in this draft today. So that's going to be good. So today's show is most going to be about those two players that we've touched on already. We're going to get really in deep and depth onto them. We'll take some questions after that. And then tomorrow shows we've done in the past, we're going to do a kind of overall thoughts on the draft, 30,000 foot view, and then also specifically great stuff, get into some of the nitty gritty of it, as far as directions they've gone, what they did, what they accomplished, decision not to take a quarterback at all in this draft class, things like that. That's Sunday. Then obviously we're going to get to some UDFA tape. I think we'll probably do that probably Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday type of thing. Within that range, you'll probably get more tape from all the guys in this class, including then Musa, who we won't have much on today, but obviously as we get a chance to watch him. One thing I will say on him now is that he was a Russell, uh, Russell Brown favorite. We had Russell Brown on our sleeper show. He actually graded him as a top 1001 player in this class. He was a big fan of his. And so he said that when we get a chance to do, we're going to like to watch the tape. And I get the feeling just from the little that I have seen Nick, that he's going to be a fun guy on tape to watch. Projection wise, that's the other story. Like how does that work at the NFL level? But they've done a good job of taking some of these guys who are maybe some would say a bit undersized at linebacker, Michael McFadden, for example, |
| 5:54.3 | and finding a role for them within the defense. |
