The Jeffrey Epstein scandal doesn't look like it's going away.

And now, sources tell CNN, the Trump administration is thinking about releasing a transcript

of recent Justice Department conversations with Epstein's accomplice, Gellane Maxwell.

CNN's Kristen Holmes says this is the White House trying to play offense after weeks of defense.

So here's what we know.

We know that there's no final decisions have been made on what they're going to release from

this interview, but the Department of Justice has been combing through the audio, combing through the transcripts,

making sure any sensitive material has been redacted as they move forward with the potential of releasing this

information. I talked to one White House official who said it could be as early as this week, another

saying it could be in several weeks. There are multiple administration officials, multiple

White House officials who feel like they've been playing catch-up.

They feel frustrated by the way that this rollout has occurred with these Epstein files, with the Epstein case,

and they want to take control of the narrative and the optics, and they believe this is one way to do it.
