Top Trump administration officials will meet today to talk about their response to the Jeffrey Epstein scandal.

Sources tell CNN, Vice President J.D. Vance is holding a dinner, and the guest list includes the White House

Chief of Staff, the Director of the FBI, the Attorney General, and the Deputy Attorney

General.

We asked CNN's Elena Treen what they're likely to discuss.

Well, Joe, these top Trump administration officials will gather at the Vice President's

residence Wednesday evening as they continue to weigh whether to publish an audio recording and transcript of Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche's recent interviews with Jeffrey Epstein accomplice Galane Maxwell.

The administration's handling of the Epstein case, as well as the need to craft a unified response, is expected to be a main focus of the dinner.

Now, this comes as we broke the news that the Justice Department has been digitizing,

transcribing, and redacting the interview materials as they weigh whether to release them.

Two senior administration officials tell me that the materials could be made public as early as this week.

Now, behind the scenes, there have also been internal discussions, I'm told,

about having Bland told a press conference or doing a high profile interview possibly with popular podcaster

Joe Rogan, though they've cautioned me that those conversations are still preliminary.

More than 20 million people are under heat alerts in the southwestern U.S. this week,

as dangerous temperatures reach their peak today and tomorrow.

And wildfires in California and Canada are seriously impacting air quality across the country.

In California, the Giffords fire has become the largest wildfire in the state so far this year,

and as CNN's Derek Van Dam explains, the race is on to contain it.
