As Alex truck was robbed, the Washington Capitals by the 2018 Stanley Cup champions.

Cap's development camp is winding up out at MedStar Capital's Iceplex and a lot of talk about these prospects and what's going to happen down the road, how long before they get here.

So we figured we do a little deep dive on a couple of the prospects from this year's draft.

I'm Rob Carlin along with Brian McNally.

And today we're going to be talking about the second and third round picks,

Brett Leeson and Alex Protas, who both came from Prince Albert, and we're going to talk to their head coach, Mark Habshide, who not only has great insight on those two young players, but also

on Brian McClellan, the GM of the Caps.

Yeah, they were linemates back in the day. But look, this is a guy who's been in the business a long time. He's seen a ton of players. He talked about Duncan Keith. He wants coached. He just name drop Duncan Keith. Like, nothing. Just drop that in there. One of these guys I coached. Like, no big deal. Right. But when you're around all these kids, what is interesting most to me is how much time, and

you'll hear the interview here in a minute, how much time he spent talking about the person

and not the player that the cap's got two good young people.

Yeah, I mean, that you could tell the relationship he has with Brian McClellan and Ross Mahoney,

for that matter, too, the Capp's assistant GM, who's run so many of their drafts, there was

kind of a communication there where he could say, look, these are good kids.
