finally been traded. I'm Rob Carlin. In New York with my family, where my dad's 84th birthday

is happening tomorrow. So I'm here. Ryan Billy is back in studio where he was all prepared

to go home and spend a nice

relaxing weekend of his family, and then we get the news that Berkowski's gone to Colorado

for a second and third round pick in 2020 and an unrestricted free agent, basically a depth

forward for the minor leagues. I'm stunned that it happened.

He was just offered the qualifying offer.

Thought maybe they were going to try and figure out a way to get a deal done.

What was your first thought, Billy, when you saw the news?

Well, yes, a little stunned, I think, just for that very reason. But after you're sort of the initial shock of it, I don't think I'm as stunned anymore.

I mean, I think there was always the idea that this was a potential scenario for him.

I think the team wanted him to, I think they wanted him to be successful here.

I think they tried really hard. And I think at points that happened, obviously last

year's Stanley Cup run the playoffs.

He had a couple big games, and that was great, but obviously this past season was a tough

one for him, and that that was going to be a tough, I think that was going to be tough I think that was going to be tough for the team to justify his salary of what they would have had to pay him this upcoming season so it doesn't totally surprise me and honestly I don't know how you feel about it but I this might be the best thing in the world for him a new sort of refresh reset for him I know he's got a lot of buddies buddies on his team. I don't want to know what's going on on Tom Wilson House right now. I imagine it's just tears upon tears. But I do think this might, as a player for Andre Bercoski, the NHL, this may end up. I mean, you think about he's going to a team that they score goals, man. He could flourish there.
