New York studio with George Clinton who is of course the founder of Parliament and a funkadelic and one of the most important figures in 20th century music

I think it's safe to say.

We talked just before his 80th birthday which just passed and he discussed his entire historic career and explained why it's not

over yet. Let's get straight to that interview.

George Clinton, thank you so much for being here.

Good to be here.

Glad to be out.

We were saying like, if you're back on the road,

the world must be returning to what it should be.

Well, that's good evidence that it's all right because I show wasn't coming out until they got

right. I got my shots. The band is ready. Everybody got their shots we just met up last night.

So yeah, you can, that's pretty good evidence that it's all right.

You were going to say farewell in 2019. You had a farewell tour. Is this technically still part of the farewell tour?

Technically it is. They didn't give us a chance to get off. We was almost there, you know, rated the end of the last

one nation tour. It was just about at the end of it and the pandemic shut us down. So it gave me a

chance to get some rest, you know, and get prepared to really do it right. So now people know I got, I'm going to finish this next year off and I'll be out then. But right now I got the kids ready to go.

They've been practicing for this for like three years and it was going great.

And 2022, is that farewell or it's okay to pull back on the farewell

we don't want you to say goodbye.

Yeah I ain't gonna I'm gonna pull back from now okay I'm pulling back from you know right

because that gave me some rest and I feel good, you know.
