So chapter 5.

This is the book of the Genesis of mankind in the day God made Adam when he made, whom he made in God's image.

So that book of the Genesis is the weird way that the Orthodox study Bible translates.

What I told you about in the introduction, that Eilatolodot in Hebrew, this is the book of the

generations.

So I talked about how that divides sort of chunks, right right so we're sort of starting a new chunk now

and what does that mean that we're you know it's like we have these two parallel genealogies

but really the genealogy of Kane was the end of the story of Kane and Abel right sort of

Kane's whole trajectory.

And really, five verse one is the beginning of the story of the flood.

Right.

So this is really the beginning.

Because this genealogy is going to lead up to Noah, as we're going to see.

Most of the time when people talk about the story of Noah and the flood, they start with

chapter 6, verse 1.
