We have Congresswoman Pramilla Gaippol with us. In 2016, I used to do these conferences called the Sister Giant conferences about women running for office. And she was a newly elected congresswoman from the city of Seattle. And, you know, we didn't know then that she was going to be quite

the star that she turned out to be, but we were certainly encouraging her and excited for her.

She had just gotten to town and the conference took place in Washington. Well, she has become a real star.

And in this coming term, she will be the chairman of the Progressive Caucus in the House.

the lead of that Medicare for All bill that everybody is talking about. She takes the lead in so many progressive issues, immigration. She has a great background in immigration, a lot of which

in her background, I think, is so interesting. She moved to the United States alone from India at the

age of 16 years old. Can you imagine what that would have been like for a 16-year-old girl to come

alone from India to the United States? She lived in the U.S. for 18 years before getting her citizenship.

She's got a BA from Georgetown University and an MBA from Northwestern, and she is the first

South Asian woman to serve in Congress. She's only one of 14 immigrants currently serving in Congress. But more than anything,
