I'm John Bachelor with my colleague Jonathan Schanza, the foundation for the

defensive democracy. We moved from the story of the bombing of the huthies and Iranian-backed militia in Iraq

to the ground war in Gaza and the potential ground war in the north of Israel.

Right now, Jonathan, the best I can discern from the

region is that the action is in Conunus, the center of the Gaza, where the Israelis

have deployed forces that are fighting every day the tunnels,

the Hezbollah and the Hamas and tunnels and they've destroyed a number or reduced a number of

their regiments so that Hamas is badly damaged.

No fighting in the south, Rarafa crossing, and this is new to my knowledge, a reawakening of some elements of Hamas in the north of Gaza,

chiefly because not everybody evacuated and they go from being because that is said to be where the leadership is hiding and we just discussed

how damaging or decapitating does win wars is Israel closer to the the leadership of Hamas than it's been before?

Yes, I mean, the answer to that question is yes, that the Israelis in Han Yunus, and this

is central southern Gaza, they were actually over the weekend

broadcasting photos and video of the capture of a major command center, probably larger than the one that they took in in Gaza City at the

beginning of the war this is hard fighting that the Israelis have had to do but they were

able to take,

I mean, they took over an underground vault

that had hundreds of thousands of shackles in it

and millions of dollars in bear bonds.

They found the training area that some of the Hamas forces had used in the

10-7 attacks. They found the command center used by Mohammed Sinwar, the brother of Yaha Sinwar, who the brother has been running the war while Yaya

Sinwar, the head of Hamas, has been underground delivering messages to his lieutenants.
