I'm John Batchew with my colleague and friend Malcolm Honan of the Conference of President's

major American Jewish organizations. Malcolm, various reports from Europe is that the IDF is withholding

supplies to some aspect of Gaza. Mostly the reason to do anything like that is because the supplies never get through.

Hamas confiscates them all and then resells them on the black market or keeps them.

So what is happening now?

So right now, well, there is a limit.

Israel has barred aid going in until the Hamas negotiates.

Honestly, they did allow in, as you know, a thousand trucks a day.

So there's more than enough food there right now.

The stockpiles will deplete eventually.

But Israel has also taken steps back by the United States.

And they cut off electricity in various steps, although almost all the electricity in Gaza is generated locally for fuel-powered

generators.

And the only direct power line from Israel goes to the desalination plants, which give less than 20% of the water in this

drip. The rest comes from three water pipelines from Israel. Even, yes, during the war,

Israel's continued to provide the drinking water to sustain its enemies that you don't read about

in the papers. And now there's the pressure being brought to

bear. They should cut down the water lines and the cut off the water lines as well. And that would be

a significant pressure. But as far as now, it's at best partial. But the cut is seen as a step in

a direction of taking more dramatic steps that will force the Hamas to take

the negotiations more seriously and release the hostages. It can't go on this way. The families are

suffering, the hostages are suffering, and then they come under the guise of the Arab summit with
