these very important day holocaust day January 27th malcolm and i were reflecting

once upon a time this is more than 20 years of holocaust days maybe our 22nd Yes, Malcolm, today. Why should it resonate so strongly?

That's a very good question, because, you know, people today want to deny history,

want to distort history. A recent study showed that 20% of the people in the world

couldn't identify the Holocaust, have no knowledge of it. And unfortunately, many young

Americans have no idea of it. And a very significant percentage, don't believe the historical

accuracy, both of the numbers involved. And while the last survivors are still alive, and in fact,

50 survivors in their 90s primarily were in Auschwitz today to give personal testimony.

And John and I participated in the past in the March of the Living,

which is this remarkable demonstration of tens of thousands of young people from all over the world

and others marching from Auschwitz to Berkenau, the extermination camps, and there they have a very meaningful ceremony.

They visit the crematoria, what's the left of them.

They tried to destroy them as the Nazis departed.

This is a particularly important year, given the rise of anti-Semitism globally,

that we remember what happened and the price for silence, the price for inaction,

a world that knew but didn't want to know the reality of what was happening.
