The tentacles reach in all directions. We begin with the Gaza War. The ceasefire is engaged,

I believe. The hostage negotiation is stalled, I believe. All this is observation from the outside, so David helps me.

David, my understanding is that there's been an offer by the Israeli side to extend the ceasefire, so-called, through Ramadan, which begins momentarily, or already underway.

And I do not know how that offer was received by what's left of Hamas,

nor do I understand the numbers of the hostages that are still in contention.

As far as we know, Hamas rejected that offer to be to extend.

So it would be a ceasefire deal is supposed to be in three phases.

We finished phase one.

And now we're entering, we're supposed to be entering phase two that was supposed to be

proceeded by negotiations to set the parameters for phase two.

President Trump had come in expressing dissatisfaction with kind of how

the hostages were being released under the ceasefire deal, which we know was negotiated under the

Biden administration. President Trump has said he did not like this crickle of hostages being

returned. He wants them returned in one batch.

And I guess because he partially because of the humanitarian concern,

partially because he wants the war over.
