joining us once again. Well, thank you for having me again. I always enjoy being on.

We want to talk with you today about the plan, the proposal by President Biden on student loan debt relief.

And this has changed and shifted a bit.

There are some on the left who want to eliminate all student loan debt, of course.

The most recent proposal from the Biden administration appears to be

something along the lines of $10,000 worth of debt per student loan. One of the merits or lack

thereof of a policy like this. Well, I think there's a number of things to think about, but one of which

is, for example, Hillsdale College doesn't take student loans

from the federal government, and that's because the government can come in and tell you what to teach

and what you can't teach, and, you know, we are independent. And so by the whole system of student loans has encouraged people to take on debt that they

wouldn't otherwise have done.

But also, if I am a university or a college that accepts these student loans, I will

raise my tuition because now I know that a student's more likely to go ahead and pay the tuition.
