Hey there, darling, welcome back to the Roots and Refuge podcast.

I'm your host Jessica Sowers and here on my podcast we talk about all things homesteading, growing food by gardening, raising animals,

preparing it, preserving it, enjoying it, as well as just living more mindfully with each other and with the earth.

Before we jump off in the topic for today, I wanted to just take a moment and thank you all so

much for the support of this podcast endeavor. We are about to slide into December of 2023.

I launched the Roots and Refuge podcast on January 1st of this year.

So we're coming to the close of the first full year of doing this. And I guess that Spotify has

just started doing their like year in review where people are able to see what all they

watched the most and how many minutes they spent watching it.

Their top podcasts are top songs and all of that.

And I started seeing people share those things about music.

And I've always thought that was fascinating, you know, kind of look back and see what you've

consumed through the years.

But I've, I mean, it's never been anything to do with me since I don't have music.

My friend Daniel always gives me updates about what his music did whenever people start

sharing those recaps.

However, I got on to Instagram today and was tagged in just countless posts of people

sharing me and this podcast on their

year in review and, you know, many people who had spent really significant amounts of time

listening to this. And it really blessed my heart. It just was such a cool thing. So much of what

I do in my life and this, which I call my job, and it is,

you know, content creation has become a job to me. I feel incredibly fortunate to be able to say that.
