Certainly not.

Right?

So he's addressing exactly this issue.

So am I saying then that the Torah is opposed to the promises?

I'm saying, here's the promises to Abraham.

Here's the Torah.

And I'm putting up verses in between, right?

Certainly not. That's that may, uh, may getito, right? That's that may it never be, God forbid, it's translated different ways, but it's what of St. Paul's pet phrases like, no way, forget it.

Right.

For if there had been a law given which could have given life, truly righteousness would have been by the law.

Okay.

This is abundantly clear.

If there had been a law given which could have given life, he doesn't say if a law had been

given that people could follow.

He says, if a law had been given, that could have given life. Meaning the Torah can't give life.

Meaning even if you keep it perfectly, it won't give you life.

The life that he's talking about.

Right.
