A federal judge has temporarily blocked part of the Trump administration's plan to freeze

federal grants and loans that could total trillions of dollars.

Several nonprofit organizations sued the Trump administration over the funding freeze.

The judge's move came minutes before it was set to go into effect

and put to hold on the freeze until Monday.

The plan sparked confusion and panic among many programs

who rely on Washington for aid.

The National Head Start Association for Preschoolers

tells CNN it's able to access its federal funding

after being unable to do so earlier.

Now to the latest on President Trump's immigration crackdown across the U.S.

Law enforcement officials say they have about 24 people in custody in New York City

since its crackdown began this morning, including a high-ranking gang member, and that it's expected to continue

all week. Police say more than 100 people have been arrested in the Chicago area since Sunday.

Nationwide, the Trump administration sweeps have included more than 2,000 arrests in two days.

That's a much higher number than the average arrest per day under the Biden administration.
