| 0:36.6 | We thank you for tuning in this Friday morning, July 24th, 2026. I'm John Paul Flame, joined by Johnny Cakes Auvill. Good morning. Happy Friday to all. Good morning. And Eric Pickle. Good morning. What is the hat there? I don't know what I'm wearing. Oh, it's just a golf company. Golf company. It doesn't matter. Figured. I figured it is either a golf company or some sort of internet. No. Company. No, it's like light blue kind of match my sweater. Very nice. I just throw it on. There you have. You're matching. You're accessorizing. I'm tired. I took a nap yesterday before we did the old Bay Sox thing. I know we're going to talk about that later. |
| 1:46.1 | But, you know, You're matching. You're accessorizing. I'm tired. I took a nap yesterday before we did the old Bayesox thing. I know we're going to talk about that later. But, you know, here we are 30 years later, 20 of them plus doing mornings. And naps just ruin my sleep. They just, they've ruined my sleep. Just makes you get into a bad cycle. I just tossed and turned all night, and I just feel tired. I was tired and a little bit on. I feel pretty good, man. I got a glorious, I think almost two-hour nap because I needed it after the, uh, the sad boy emotional Noah Con show, where I got like three and a half. I was sleeping. Well, you definitely needed it. So I feel pretty good. So I've been in a terrible sleeping run. and here's the funny thing about us talking about sleep at the beginning of the show when we first became a morning |
| 1:49.8 | show in 2002 the first month or so yeah we were so pummeled by lack of sleep because we had been a |
| 1:59.7 | nighttime show right i mean even there was even a period we had been a nighttime show. Right. |
| 2:01.3 | I mean, there was even a period of time during the nighttime show where we were doing the show |
| 2:04.7 | until 1 a.m. |
| 2:05.9 | When we were doing that special hour for WFAN in New York. |
| 2:09.6 | Yeah. |
| 2:09.9 | So we were used to staying up late, sleeping in late. |
| 2:14.0 | This is kind of before kids. |
| 2:16.1 | And it hit us so hard when we had to do the mornings that after a couple weeks, we're like, we've got to stop talking about waking up. People don't want to hear us just pitch about not sleeping. And here we are 30 years into the show and we're still doing it. It pervades every corner of your life, JP. I mean, when you think about it, when you would pull back the curtain, it's one of your, it's one of your tent pole things as far as like your life. Yeah, if you don't get good sleep, diet, exercise. I mean, I don't know what else to really throw in there. Those are like, those are like three pretty big basic tenants. If you're in a good life, you're going to have terrible health and you're going to have a short life. I'm failing on two of those three. Sure. Diet definitely failing on. I had a Hershey bar last night at 11 o'clock. Yeah. I am a late night snacker. I always tell my wife, don't bring crack to the crack house because the crack head, that's me, we'll find it. |
| 3:08.6 | And there were Hershey bars kind of hidden by our plates and bowls. And I saw them and I just couldn't not have one. Well, you know, I've lost... At 11 o'clock. That's terrible. It is terrible. And I used to do that. And I've lost a lot of weight. And I'm proud of it. And people literally are calling me, |
| 3:24.3 | O-Zempic, whatever. |
| 3:26.3 | O-Zemp-Bick? |
| 3:27.0 | Is that a used to do that. I've lost a lot of weight and I'm proud of it. And people literally are calling me, O-Zemp-Bick, whatever. OZemp-Bick? Is that a bit to do it? Lots of people. And it's fine. I guess it's a compliment. But the number one thing, I think there's two things. The number one thing, though, has been the intermittent fast, which is stop eating like at 6 o'clock. Yeah. 6.30. You know, if I'm on vacation or something, |
| 3:42.1 | they might go a little later. |
